Rufina Santana, a «never-tired» traveller looking for the answers to the questions posed by her Art.

A  painter holding a degree in Art from the University of Barcelona.

She has participated in many courses and artistic and literary experiences, as well as workshops with painters such as Lucio Muñoz and Rafael Canogar.

She is working on “The Book of the Artist” and participates at international exhibitions and fairs.

Rufina Santana is founder of the “School of the Sun”, a multidisciplinary experience for Art, Science and Spirituality.

She has also created the editing label “Hara” for graphics, produced exhibitions and edited many catalogues and books.

The artist is working together with a precious team of collaborators to organise her ideas.

Actually, she expose her landscape paintings of the project “Canarias, Paisaje Intimo” with Poldo Cebrian (Photographer), in Poland (Warsawa,) and Kiev (M17 Contemporary  Art Center) . This project is promoted by Septenio (Canary Island Gobernement) , Cervantes Institute, and Spanish Embassy .

Her work is a reflection of the Island, a metaphor of paradise. For this reason, she is participating in the exhibition “Hespérides” (Government of the Canary Islands 2000) and the individual exhibition “The Archaeology of the Garden”.

At the moment, the artist is working on the Project “Art and Nature” – “The Garden of the Two Shores”. Thanks to this project she realises paintings and sculptures in the Canary Islands, Germany and Japan. In Japan, Rufina Santana is working together with  Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, an artist who has received many awards like “The Living Treasure” for keeping alive the tradition in his culture.

Rufina Santana is based  between Lanzarote and Madrid, but also travelling with her projects.
